Hand-made bobbin lace jewellery

About me

Laďka Dostálová

I was born in Rychnov nad Kněžnou and spent my school years in Vamberk, where I attended the Vamberk lace school from the age of 10. I received my first award at 12, winning a competition for young designers.

Since summer 2003 I have focused on designing and making my own jewellery and accessories for evening dresses. I have created a number of collections, first presented at fashion shows in Luhačovice (2003). Photos from some of my exhibitions and shows are in the Exhibitions section.

Hand-made bobbin lace jewellery emphasises a woman's femininity and fragility at the same time. The motifs come from my own ideas and since 2004 I have added beautiful minerals such as amethyst, hematite, moldavite, rose quartz, howlite and agate. I also like working with three-dimensional flowers in all their variety and colour.

Some of my jewellery has been published in the Czech magazine Paličkování (Bobbin Lace) by Iva Prošková and in the international magazine Lace Express (Canada).

“With my jewellery it's like with wine… the more I design, the better, more refined and mature it gets…”
